How precisely does DigiXros work, here?
From what I understand, it requires multiple digimon, each with the capability to begin with.

You just kinda need several digimon. I don't understand Xros entirely myself, but I'm going with; you need digimon that are registered into your D-Coder.

How about DigiXros "Spoofing", where you steal Data like in S3, "read" it into the D-Coder, and you can use that Data indefinitely for the same Xrosses, but you'll read Errors for anything that's not a valid Xros-compatable Digimon in the first place?
Frankly, I think I'd feel obligated to have a character who's already hacked a D-coder to work like a regular D-cell anyway.
Edit: I think it'd be a little fun if you replaced the Xros rings with Spirit rings, actually.

I'm not bringing in Spirit Evolution. And in this case, any can be used to Xros. Your idea of keeping data for the same Xrosses does have merit. Go with that.

I'm... Gonna use Xros like the cards in Tamers, then.
That's a valid use, right?

Yeah I guess, just as long as you start out with no more than three in an Xros.
